From Texas with Love

Aaron is playing his steel guitar in the living room as I post this. The man loves him some country soundin' music. 

We are both surrounded by furniture and to-do lists. Our Christmas tree is still up in the living room...we have wedding pictures to send to Aaron's clients...our fridge is looking scarce. 

I suppose the past few months have been busy busy. We are still trying to figure out how to balance our time. 

One way we've kept ourselves busy has been weekend trips. This past weekend we went to Dallas/Fort Worth. Aaron was attending a photojournalism conference (his birthday present) and I was going to Denton to hang out with Britney Bradshaw and then Waco to see Melissa Gruver (two of my best friends). 

We both had a great trip. Aaron had a lot of encouragement from all the other photographers there. I suppose a job that seems "impractical" can get really worrisome. While there, Aaron met a few high-ish profile photojournalists that encouraged him to pursue the things he loves. That would be a career focusing on portraits, rather than photojournalism. Many people liked Aaron's work.

For me, the trip was refreshing. Being around people that have known you for over 5 years and have loved you regardless of how they've seen you is quite an honor. Besides all that! we got to go to IKEA!!!!

There, I purchased an apple corer, an electric milk frother, some cute cute cups, and some other good things (including a plant!)

So things have been good. We trudged back to Jackson through snow and cold on Sunday, and now (thursday) it's 70ish degrees.

Oh where oh Where is our 6 month anniversary???

The tricky thing about being married on August 30, is that you can't have an anniversary in February. That would be fine, except! that this February is our 6 month anniversary.

What do we do?

Pretend like the second to last day is the 3oth? 

Do we just celebrate on the 2nd day of March?

This is tricky. Tricky tricky tricky. 

Well, we are venturing to Texas at the end of this month for Aaron's birthday present. He wanted to go to this photojournalism conference in Fort Worth. I love that! because I have dear friends that live in the Dallas and Waco areas. So Brittney and Mel get to hang out with me. What a nice birthday present for Aaron to give himself. 

What am I listening to right now? Well, my sister and brother in law's church released a short worship album on iTunes called Melodies from Life. It's really nice. I get to listen to worship and try to get motivated to do housework. Nothing like a little Jesus to motivate me to stop being so lazy.

Thanks so so so much to everyone who came out to the wedding shower at Grace Point Baptist church this past weekend!For those who don't know, some ladies from the church I grew up in threw us a shower this past weekend. We arrived there early and we were one of three cars in the parking lot. We thought "Well this might be a little gathering" but soon after we arrived, we were overwhelmed by the amount of people that came!It was so good to see many familiar faces that I hadn't seen in YEARS.
We got some really great stuff too! We had nothing, really, and now we have enough to fill an apartment! EXCITING! One of our most surprising presents came from my sister and my brother.

How about a Wedding???

Welp. If you are looking at this site, it's probably because you heard the news! We are getting HITCHED!

Aaron and I want you to be well informed of what's going on.
So far we plan on marrying on Saturday August 30. That's Labor Day weekend.
So we hope our out of town friends can manage a trip down south.

Last night we began registering and looking for apartments. It was so fun to pick out the most random stuff.
At first Aaron was being very cautious and wanted to research, but he loosened up and started going ALL KINDS OF CRAZY!
(not really.) (But he did get a little electronics happy ;) )
